Developed an online community for Alvin Ailey dedicated fans and followers. Cultivating a robust comment section on Facebook and Instagram. Engaging in two-way conversations through DMs and comments. Answering queries, and getting excited alongside Ailey’s storytelling audience as they shared their love for the Company.

Successfully transitioned to a video-first and storytelling content strategy resulting in a 144% increase in average views per video.

Pitched, created, and managed the distribution of collaborative content with brands and institutions like The First Lady of the United States, The Little Mermaid Live Action Film, SheaMoisture, Lincoln Center, American Ballet Theatre, The National Center for Civil and Human Rights, and UNC Basketball.

Supported broader company goals by integrating content from all Ailey brands into the main social media accounts. Showcasing Ailey II, Ailey Extension, The Ailey School, and Ailey Arts in Education.

An opportunity for storytelling…

At Alvin Ailey I was able to dive into storytelling in a way that had not yet been explored on social.

From sharing our dancer’s reactions to being featured in Times Square to discussing the rarely shared story of how the Company received multiple threats of violence as they performed ‘Survivors’ across the country in the 80’s.
